Ask Bernd Roesch for the reason. I think his icon_lib.exe has some API extensions for handling TrueColor images, but my icon.library don't has these functions. But I still can't believe that it depends on RemLib, whether it works or not. Maybe it fools MoreLibSpace, who knows? I don't need themes and skins.

Update to icon.library 46.4.494 (TC020)
Fixed the problem with the background cleaning in my gfx-patch for icons with frames in DOpus4 Icon Info, DOpus5 and on WB 3.0/3.1. The alpha blending looks correct now. |

Ciao Peter i believe the "IconLib_46.4.494" you can not use it anymore AFA-OS with or without "icon_lib.exe" no version of mine of AFA-OS seems to start.
Today, however, i noticed that integration "IconLib_46.4.493" that seemed to be fine, today I found that some icons after the change and rescue disappeared |

Update: Strange, I cannot reproduce your problem anymore. AfA and 494 are working together now without icon_lib.exe (maybe I did not cold start before after renaming icon_lib.exe): Last edited by PeterK; 17 August 2018 at 01:19. |

Hi.
In my case, the AMIGASYSTEM solution does not work for me. Maybe it's because I have a standard installation of AFA_OS. For these cases, what works perfectly (at least for me) is the following: ... C: AddDataTypes REFRESH QUIET c: AfA_OS_Loader C: IPrefs If EXISTS Libs: icon.library flushlib> NIL: icon.library REMOVE EndIf C: ConClip Path> NIL: RAM: C: SYS: Utilities SYS: Rexxc SYS: System S: SYS: Prefs SYS: WBStartup SYS: Tools SYS: Tools / Commodities ... I hope it serves you. Regards!! |

In general, "Path >NIL:" is a bad idea, it's one of those commands you want to know when it fails. |

Update to icon.library 46.4.495 (TC020)
A new attempt to create a gray background in my gfx-patch for icons with frames to get a correct looking alpha blending. I hope that it's more system and AfA_OS friendly now, but this still needs to be confirmed. @AMIGASYSTEM Please check the new version and upload your original Mason app icon, which disappeared on drag&drop. AfA has so many nice bugs. I just noticed in SnoopDos that intuition_lib.exe and zune_lib.exe are trying to open icon.library v52/53 more than a dozen times in every second, although nothing is done with icons! What a perfect coding is that, please? |

Peter in my opinion AFA-OS is the best OS AMiGA I've tried, unfortunately he did not have a large following, a little for the installation difficulties and therefore few tests by users, perhaps this is the reason why development has stopped. I hope that some enthusiast like you resume the development, maybe you could do a little thought
Con icon_lib.exe + icon.library + RemLib i had noticed another strangeness, in practice when a window is asked to show "all files" the time needed is longer than when I only use icon_lib.exe which is very fast even if there are hundreds of files or icons (same CPU same RAM). Tested icon.library 46.4.495 (TC020) and now it works well even if the problems with "icon_lib.exe + icon.library + RemLib" remain. The icons that disappear are standard Masonicons Collection icons,you can download them HERE (Name Archive "Basic Icons Collection"), almost all the icons contained in the archive have that problem. I specify that with these icons no problem with OS3.9/Icon.library and AfA-OS/icon_lib.exe |

No, I don't want to drive Bernd (and me) crazy by messing around with his AfA code.
I hope you and SOY understand that cheating MoreLibSpace and the patching of icon.library by using RemLib or FlushLib is not an officially supported option of AfA_OS. It's on your own risk to do that. |

The problem with the Mason icons is the same old story again. Many of these icons contain bad looking planar images with more than 8 colors, but no palette, of course. The AmigaOS 3.9 icon.library shows these icons (v45), and only the python icon has 4 colors.
My icon.library replaces all the bad looking planar images with the internal smaller 4-color images except for the python icon. Due to a bug in AfA it can not read any OS4 icons which include planar images with a different size than their TrueColor images have. AmigaOS 4.0 has no problems to display all these icons correctly as created by my library: Last edited by PeterK; 17 August 2018 at 19:27. |

@AMIGASYSTEM
Have you tried "real" AROS/68k with icon.library 46.4? |

I don't know whether AMIGASYSTEM has tried that, but myself, I didn't install and test AROS 68k with my library in the last 2-3 years anymore. I hope it still works, but I didn't get any feedback for long. I would try that if it wasn't such a bloated package like Aros Vision with more than 1 GB. I don't have enough free space on my Mini-PC.

@Peter
Just to not be misunderstood AFA-OS "Standard" without use of "RemLib"he has no problem with those icons or other icons excluding those created by hexaae , see video esaustive @kolla AROS 68K has its own native icon.libreria "not compatible with OS3 standard", and has no problem seeing any icon. Update to icon.library 46.4.496 (TC020)
My old optional instruction "KeepPlanarImages" (from the Aminet package) can be used with TC020 now to keep also planar images with more than 8 colors alive when you are saving OS4 icons. This is a workaround for AfA_OS to let it display OS4 icons. @AMIGASYSTEM Couldn't see you crying , my good old friend Carlo. |
