They should have accepted after 10 years that x86 dominates. PPC has died -even Apple accepted that. |

At the end of the day if you want exotic hardware and unusual operating systems you're gonna pay for it. You want lots o' speed for not a lot of cash, go and build yourself an Intel PC and put Windows/Linux on it.
I'm interested in the Amiga for the same reason I use PPC Macs and old Sun UltraSparcs, they're different and I like seeing how they work. Computers are gonna be reeeally boring when they all use exactly the same hardware and work in exactly the same way. P.S. PPC architecture isn't dead! Wii uses it! XBox360 uses it! PS3 uses it! |

The differnece being that the 360 and PS3 are 3.2 ghz not 400mhz.
I'd sooner pay $10 more and get the entry level PS3 and install linux on it and get yourself a far more capable and interesting box. Talk about different hardware, you don't get much different than the CELL processor. |

Yes it is well known that through fear of real competition the collective might of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are suppressing the development of our Amiga PPC platform

Guys.. please......
Back in 1992, before the big c strangled themselves..... the 486 was faster than the A4000/040 that came out, remember? People with 486 STILL drooled at our computers because we had the "community spirits" and we dared to be different. Three years later and the Pentium PC's rolled of the shelves.... and they still looked at our inferior (CPU-speedwise) computers and drooled. What has happened to that? Just because Windows now requires 91278 GHz and 928375 GB Ram to be able to run the OS alone, doesn't mean the "new" amigas can't still be drooled at, by people with 4times RAM, 10time CPU power..... With some good luck, the new Amiga's may very well stun the Redmonds yet again. (Yes, I'm compulsively optimistic.... but then again, I have my A1200 behind me, in working order as I type :P ) |

This new machine is probably slow but then the OS is probably leaner than XP or OSX and can be tailored for the hardware. If they can be bothered they can optimise the pants off it and squeeze every last bit of speed out of the machine rather than just tell you to go buy more RAM and a faster CPU like MS do. |

Surely it must have crossed your mind that Aming.Inc's NEW Amiga has arisen only to strengthen their argument in the court case.
Think, an OS with Hardware to run it on looks far more valuable, compared to a bunch of code with no hardware to run it on. This $500 machine is pure Vapourware - it doesnt exist - it isnt an Amiga. If it did would it ever run OCS ECS AGA - UAE (fast enough to count)? NO!!!! of course it wont! |

Who would waste their money on this?
Looks like a pile of shite. Why would anyone want an outdated PPC computer? Can you play old amiga games on it?......no? What the hell is the point? OS4 is waste of time when you can just grab XP or OSX Seriously you are a real sucker if you waste your money on this. |

If they want to make some money from nostalgia they should make a short production run of *new* more suped up classics.
So a run of A4000D/T with included PCI busboard or a run of A1200D/T with included PCI busboard or 060 accelerator Even then its pretty difficult for them to make profit. Its not very viable for them to make a new run of A4000Ds Really they should just give up on Amiga...the brand and the classics. |
