Searching Portuguese Amiga owners

Here's something out off subject, but i maibe getting a nice deal on an Magnum 1230 40Mhz 32mb and will need to sell either my Amitek Hawk with 4mb or my powercomputing 4mb, i would prefer to sell this nationaly so, would any off you Portuguese fellows would be insterested in any off this cards? price would be around 40€ with shipping (negotiable).

Thanks for your offer JLPedro but I´m a proud holder of a Blizzard 040 and a Apollo 060 that´s enough for now.
What I will need in near future is 64Mb for the Blizzard and a Blizzard PPC..

Is there any portuguese Amigans with programming experience?

I'm thinking of getting actively back to the Amiga World this Christmas (I'll probably get a Sam440ep). My targets will be primarily AmigaOS 4.1, then maybe AROS (it should run on the Sam by then and porting should be easy).

I read something about Hyperion having Java in their plans somewhere... let's hope it's sooner than later. For example, I have a very nice multiplatform, client-server domotics system (with iPhone control and all) in the works that I'd love to have working on AmigaOS.

I've done some joking around back then, but my language/platform portfolio has grown enormously since then (C, C++, ObjC, Java, Ruby, Blitz, ...).

Maybe we could even persuade Mark Sibly to port BlitzMax to the Amiga (oh the irony...)?

Currently I´m learning Amiga C but lately the evolution has not been so much..
Some years ago I programming in ARexx, even had developed a system automation, but as I had some years away from my Amiga I forgot most of the skills
Actually I´m trying to get lost of the rust

I'm Portugese American and have been to Portugal many times. Did you ever got to the store Chroma in Coimbra? They were a NewTek Video Toaster dealer if I remember correctly. Good to know there are few Portuguese Amigans... Sold my A3000T to a Portuguese guy in Brooklyn years ago... I'm in New York City area.

another portuguese reporting.

I started programming on a ZX Spectrum and later moved to the Amiga (AMOS Basic, 68000 assembler and C). I became an electronics and telecommunications engineer because of my Amiga 500.
Nowadays I'm returning to my roots and planning to program some stuff for the Amiga.

Hardware:

- Amiga 500 - 1MB RAM expansion; Action Replay MkIII cartridge; 1.3 OS; 2 external floppy drives

- Amiga 1200 - 4GB CF hard drive; Wireless ethernet; CF, SD, SDHC PCMCIA card reader; Blizzard 1230-MkIV accelerator with 64MB RAM; OS 3.1

And nice story by the way. Yes the Amiga was a real booster for our interests and later, careers, it was to me also in music, although I've explored the Speccy 48k capabilities and the +2 also on that field with the limited programs available at the time. And that was one of the reasons to upgrade to a more "serious" computer, to do "real" music not blip blops.
Aahh, it turned out that now I'm trying to do blip blops with "real" hardware, but nevermind.

Well the purpose of this thread is exactly what i've said on the first post, to know who we are and maybe later who knows? A meeting, perhaps having enough interest. A portuguese forum maybe an idea to be thought, but i've been in a particular portuguese retro gaming and computing forum, and after several months there are only two members. Myself included. Maybe bad advertising i don't know.

I think every tuga who born before PSone as passed by Spectrum.. I, as born before flippers machines, :S started my computers carreer in ZX81 where I started programming my own games and later continued with spectrum 48k where I programmed in BASIC and in Z80 assembler. In Amiga, where I wanted to continue programming I had no information at 15 years ago, so never programmed the Amiga before except some ARexx in an automation project. Now I´m back to the roots and collecting more information about Amiga programming and I´m starting the firsts steps..BlueAchenar, what books do you advises to beginning programming the Amiga? And in what language?

Hum, what what language?
If you want to program applications I would recommend C. If you are into games/demos I would recommend assembler or AMOS Basic (if speed is not an issue).
I learned almost everything I know through magazines and tutorials, so the only books I can recommend are the Amiga ROM Kernel Manuals. There's a good book for learning C, but it's not Amiga specific (I'll put the name here later when I get home from work).
I have a few book about Amiga C and Assembler but haven't read them yet. I'll try to program a replacement compactflash.device in a few weeks (I have many incompatible CF cards), so I'll probably read them and let you know.
