New to Forum :)

Hi all thought I best introduce my self as i just registered on the site

Well I’ve always loved the Amiga series, but could only afford a c64 back in the early 90’s (my childhood) but now I have a a500+ and an Amiga 1200 that I really would like to start learning more about, my pc knowledge is ok but I don’t really know allot about workbench./Amiga os and other things

So I’ m looking forward to checking the forum out fully and becoming a part of the community

I did register on Amiga.org a few days back and got some good advise so i do know where i want to start... after getting some of those classic games back on floppy, i'm going to look at the following for my a1200

* 3.1 rom's
* 4gb cf hd
* accelerator card with ram
* Os 3.5

But i'm glad i was told about this site

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris, and welcome to EAB!

Those items you mention will turn your A1200 into a very useful machine.

Just a quick question all, i've been looking at this on e-bay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

as i like the idea of being able to play cd32 games on the 1200

will this cause any issues with any of the upgrades i listed though?

Thanks

Chris

it adds nothing to your 1200 apart from scsi and a fast serial port
suggest you spend money on a fast ata card from amigakit and a cheap ide cd drive
that way you get a bufferd ide interface which can have up to 4 devices on and leaves your pcmica port free

that is unless you have lots of scsi kit of course
you can still use the squirrel drivers with an ide drive well the bit that dose 32 emulation
