I'm sure you do! Great coders always keep all their source code and testing tools - they just lose them by not making backups!!

Yes they will, especially if this WHDLoad request jumps in front of the 2 x <unnamed projects> that you're doing for me

As you know, there are no 100% disk versions of these two and I'm sure they'll be much appreciated by the Amiga community

Well now you know one of them, but I best inform you that I sleep with a shotgun fully loaded and ready for action

Oh my, I missed this!

Bonecruncher was one of my favourite games back when I had my A1000. I recall picking it up at a local branch of Dixons - was my birthday, so I grabbed Xenon II, SEUCK and had enough left over for Bonecruncher (though it was heavily discounted, otherwise I'd not have bothered).

I actually got more enjoyment out of that than I did the other two, despite its janky unpolished feel.

good old bone cruncher really seems to be a unique creature of its kind. i have been trying to find a scan of the amiga box, no luck so far.

over at hol it is rated extr. rare. anyone who ever saw this box in the wild or is the proud owner of the game?

i just come to think of all the mayhem caused (several times) by a few more popular games in that range, emerging on platforms like €€bay. this one should be among the real lords of chaos, i guess

Hai tempo per favore?

Ross, just a gentle reminder to not forget about doing the WHD patch for this game. Thanks!

Lords of Chaos is rare? Christ, I picked that up from the local market for £1.99 back in '98 or so

Nope, I'm pretty sure that all the commercial releases of Bone Cruncher were either jewel case (Amiga and BBC/C64 disk versions) or plastic cassette cases (BBC/Electron and C64 tape versions).

As an aside, I always thought it was quite strange how Superior Software released an Amiga version of Bone Cruncher in 1988....but never released an Archimedes version, which they did for most of their back-catalogue BBC/Electron games in the late 80s IIRC. I have to wonder if poor sales of the obscure Amiga version (or sales of the game, in general, across formats) had anything to do with the game not seeing an Archimedes conversion!!

It's not a straight Boulder Dash clone like most people have probably pegged it to be, simply based on screenshots and reading mag reviews from back in the day (check out the HOL entry and have a read of what the game coder said in an interview about this!). Anyway, I reckon it's definitely worth giving the game a whirl!!!

Awesome work Bertrand! I suggest you get Retroplay to test your slave as he's probably played the game a thousand times now!! It also frees up Ross to patch other games for me now!!!

that's great. like those plastic cases, have that c64 touch to it. i remember a few early amiga titles a friend showed to me back then like feud or live and let die.

1987 version has problems with slave.
Game is too fast.

Right at this point here on level 1, when taking another step it skips back to title screen and graphics gets messed up.

Bono also corrupts:

The messed up title screen.

The messed up cutscenes from the original is good though (Bono taking a bath).

Ross version:
Plays at correct speed but also has problems.
It too skips back to title screen at the same spot as the 1987 version.
