Does anybody still have a copy of "GQ2" and "GQ3"; which have now been removed off Aminet?
Yes I know I can get the data from Aladin's generic slaves but the "readme" files are not there... |

You can recover files in the first post

You just have to wait for the author to submit them. GQ3 only has the first part. The rest should not be long. Last edited by Aladin; 07 March 2021 at 02:06. |

Also, when rescanning all "Geo Quest" games with "VirusZ", there are no viruses found but am told that there are errors in the following files from Aladin's generic slave data:

I just replaced the gracplayer2 executable. The other files are the originals of the original archive ...

The reason why I say that the "Readme" files are missing is this.
If you download your "GeoQuest1-WHDL.lha", there is no "Readme" file. If you download "GQ", there is a "Readme" file. Plus it has a lot of useful information inside. |

Hmmm, I also have problems running both GQ2 and GQ3 natively.
The games launch, a black screen for a few seconds and then back to Workbench with this: Checked with SnoopDOS and no errors. Also have all the Fonts copied. |

Anyone know how to solve the above with GQ2 and GQ3?
I've tried on a ClassicWB 3.1 Lite installation and also a standard Workbench 3.1 installation. Same error on both, and nothing from SnoopDOS |

We can load it to GRAC and try to find the problem, but I think it can be another missing file issue.

...and I have all the same files as that's where I got the data from. There's no sound in them though. |

I will try. Problem is the GRAC itself is buggy as hell

Hi Friends, sorry been ill for awhile and away from here. I did get an email from Aminet and they said okay to re-upload GQ2 & GQ3 (part 1) In the mean time to load the games, all the grac files must be in a folder named - GQ2 or GQ3 (separate one for each games data game) on your partition named "Work". If none of your DH: partitions are named Work, you will have to assign it. Unfortunately Edmond really didn't provide a way in Grac to create alternatives to loading your creation. Whatever the name of the path you created it in, is the one that you must load from. So my system was typical with a System and Work partition, and the game development files were in the Work partition in either the GQ2 or GQ3 drawer. Hope this helps. As indicated, haven't been well so GQ3 "Hainey's Comet" is stalled, its about 1/2 done, hope to get better and finish it soon. Cheers

Now "Geo Quest 3" starts and works. "Geo Quest 2" however; still the same error message: |

@DamienD
while waiting for the new aminet archive of Pngcan. You can take back my archive. I corrected the PATH with GRAC2. (it had been modified in my archive, I don't know why, it was looking for volume whdload). I put three path GQ2: SYS:GQ2 Work:GQ2 Last edited by Aladin; 07 March 2021 at 23:37. |

It is VERY easy to mess paths and texts allocation in GRAC.

Not sure I understand; you hacked the game exe to add those paths somewhere or?
