Ah, now I see how it works

What have 'uae.device' and 'unit 2' to do with it?

in a shell type Mounter D=uaescsi.device. Just double check it sees the emu has assigned your cdrom to unit 0

not a problem, just confirming which drive is on what number. so basicaly should just a case of using cdda prog in gs add, and selecting uaescsi unit 0

then launch engine and once it gets to menu the drive led should start flashing in a constant fasion indicating audio playback

Yes, it's flashing constantly, but only when I launch the game through CDDA prog, not Engine.

Yeah, that's correct. You have to start the game via CDDA icon to play the music. Check if the game works with my CDDA.prefs. Copy this file to your GSAddOns folder.

Only to be sure: You use analogue audio out with your soundcard?

Engine should also play the cdda. cdda icon is just used to set and save the prefs and launch game if wanted.
