I don't believe that System 3 went bankrupt (unless anyone knows differently).
They still exist as Studio 3, anway! www.studio3.co.uk |

In late 1992 SYSTEM 3 went bancrupt.
But it was rebuild in 1996 or 1998 by John Twiddy i think. |

Right, I gotta get myself a PSX emulator and a copy of X2.
That is a necessity. I've always known about it but heard it was shite. |

I like the game. some people loathe it, some people love it. It's a love/hate thing, just like with Project X.
Technically astounding, no questions about that. I don't know if it runs in emulators but it';s worth a try. I'm trying to get myself a copy of this game for my PSX (copy as in original copy, you pirate bastards ) |

Project X - great music, but lousy gameplay and the graphics arent all that hot - backgrounds are luvly but the sprites are shite.
Then again, i have a low regard for all Team 17 games from a visual perspective - they looked amateurish compared to Psygnosis and Bitmap Brothers games |

I've never understood why people said this?
I thought that Agony looked shite in comparison with Project-X, Stardust et all. I've always liked the look of the Team 17 games. |

I think Agony looks great, and so do most Team 17 games. But Project X's sprites do look a bit cacky. The main ship is the problem, the other enemies look fine. Alien Breed has brilliant gfx IMO.

I just didn't like the look of agony. It looked like it only used 4 colours. I thought the owl looked absolutely brilliant however. Superbly animated. Just those backgrounds.
I thought that Beast rocked, never liked the look of number 2, but number 3 looked good too. Speedball 2 (CD32 esp.) looked awesome, so did Gods, Magic Pockets, Xenon 2, in fact the only ones I thought didn't look as good where the Chaos Engine's. |

You are not far from the truth I think. The sprites that were not the owl probably use 3 or 4 colors, not more! Yes, it gives it a very monochrome look, but I loved the music, the owl and the backgrounds. The monochrome shades made it even more spooky!
about X2, here's a review: http://www.vidgames.com/ps/software/x2.html The game features horizontal and vertical scrolling sections (รก la Salamander) and 2 Player Simultaneous action! |

Yeah ok, the body blows games were a bit naff. Some of the backdrops on the AGA versions did look pretty good though.

Agony is a beautiful game. An AGA port of it would have been fabulous as granted on occasions the pallette looks limited. But such a detailed look, wonderful parralax scrolling... amazing music one of the most lush games on the Amiga
