Commiting ADFs to disk...

Is there a way to do this on a normal PC without modified hardware/extra cards/etc or should I just get a null modem cable? I've noticed that you can READ amiga disks on PC using a program called ADFread. If that's possible can you also write them?

Hi,
on this site you find a solution for both directions using a nullmodem-cable.
I use it for now four or five years.

http://adfsender.stoeggl.com/index.html

You'll need only a PC, an Amiga, a Nullmodem cable, the Workbench and Amiga-Basic to prepare the system.
After I transfered transdisk to the Amiga using Amiga-Basic, I did a lot of disk-copies. Then I prepared a workbench-adf with the program Transwarp on the PC with ADFOpus and transferred that one to the Amiga.

PC-->Amiga ca. 7 min.
Amiga-->PC ca. 2,5 min.

Cheers, Rick

Sounds right up my street Rick.... I literally only have a handful of disks I want to adf - mainly iff pictures and (crap) music modules I did, and the source code/graphics for a game also.

Mainly for sentimental reasons methinks and I hate to access 'em on my A1200 after another couple of years and find them knackered!!

Hmm. AmigaBasic may be a problem as I beleive the system will contain 2.04 Kickstart ROMs and have Workbench 2.1...

Send a message via MSN to scaf
Workbench 2.1 system can read PC 720Kb disks.
There's a word on this here (near the end of the page) : http://nebulus.fr.nf/~scaf/adfdump/e...thodeDump.html
I think the whole site can help you.

Yipes... Things have just gotten rather urgent... I now have an Amiga 500 (the 2500 hasn't come through) and no workbench disk for it... I have the 1.3 workbench on my HD but no way to get it to the computer...

Well then,
as long as you can't run the Amiga, you must get your hands on the disks. (Worbench 1.3 and AmigaBasic)
Try it at ebay or try to interview people on the street if they have them.

Cheers, Rick
