Beach Justice!

Based on the hit late 80's / early 90's TV show of the same name, take control of either Wendy Muller or Pam Nelson over THREE sun soaked, violence packed levels. Whether at The Beach, The Arcade or soaking wet at The Waterpark these 19 year old EX-COP ECO-WARRIORS seek vengeance on the sinister overlord who is responsible for killing Jeremy, their favourite Seagull, and will clear a path of ecologically friendly destruction behind them.

*********

OK none of the above is real but makes a nice excuse to paint a couple of bikini clad women in Dpaint, also means i get some use out of the graphics tablet I bought for the 1200.

Yes, there will be more work done to this image! This should of course be considered a "Work in Progress" Hope you all like it so far, perhaps I will post more progress as its made... I might possibly design some animated sprites based on these characters too, just for fun. Just FYI the girls are not based on a photo, scan etc, they're just drawn freehand based on what I think a woman in these poses might look like, while looking at pics of women in bikinis in various poses. Its a tough job, but someone etc....

So if they look weird then its entirely my fault.

I guess the image will look very small on a PC monitor, but fills a TV in amiga low-res PAL mode. Yes they will get arms etc... The girl on the left (Wendy) will be holding a police style badge in her free hand, the girl on the right will be holding a gun, gangster style. Apologies for the awful looking text, it will obviously be bigger/ more elaborate than plain tiny text.

I had to save it as a gif, I had to load the image into personal paint to do that, hopefully it will look ok and not mangled along the way. And this is all uploaded from a real amiga1200 too, just for fun. Painted in 256 colour AGA - I'd have maybe used a lower mode but its my first painting on an amiga in at least 15 years so please be kind and don't call me a n00b for spamming the AGA.

Thanks Prowler, appreciate the support

I'm no coder so I'd never be able to make a game out of it, but I think I could make it look pretty good anyway... Maybe it would be possible for me to mod an existing engine/game.

Any ideas let me know

Also I need some character names, I think I like the idea of the names being the fictional actresses who played these characters. Maybe something like "Stacey O'leary" "Shauna Wilde"

hey turrican3, thanks

I did some more on this then the machine crashed... Guess i need to redo some stuff.

Who can hook me up with some timing fix components? I think the machine is getting worse! I ordered an SMD rework station today so I can recap my amigas and hopefully fix up some other equipment.

Although it shows no progress I've scaled up the previous pic 400% in photoshop to a higher res, but keeping it un-blended so you can easily get a better impression of what it looks like on a low res screen.

Great artwork! The shading of the skin and the structure of the hair look very sophisticated!

I'm glad you like it, still needs a lot of work! I'm trying bring it up to a decent level of quality overall.

Hey, you're meant to take this seriously, oh, wait no you're not... It's meant to be humourous but not Python-esq (well ok she is holding a dead bird)

So I've attached another pic, redid everything that was lost in the crash and lot more. They now have most of their limbs - notice i'm avoiding hands as much as possible... lots of other changes / improvements.

Also let Dpaint work on the sky gradient all by itself, which was apparently mistake... There's enough different tones in the pallete & range to give a much smoother result but it only uses a small selection. nasty. Maybe I should try Dpaint 5 or something different like personal paint but IV is the one I used to use so its more retro for me Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

Thats a mighty beak on that seagull. Was his mother a Toucan?

Great work mate.

I think he started out as just a generic bird so the shaping is a bit random... he still needs a lot of work.

Thinking about it some more, he might be the special weapon, with a super-natural aspect like Golden Axe, a giant fiery seagull sweeps the screen smiting the girls enemies with a big gull shriek (perhaps just keeping them awake at night). Or a hundred normal sized ghost-gulls swoop down at high speed and peck the enemies to death. Spacebar on Amiga, A on megadrive, Snes - the whole game didn't get published due to its controversial early 90's bikini policy.

Yes I am making this up as I go along.
