Liking this! The weapon variety is really nice and the upgrades feel meaty. Death only drops you down one upgrade level, which you can come back from.

Looks like a game where the skilled players can differentiate themselves. I'm mediocre at shmups but will definitely be putting some time into it.

I think it depends. Those who love Mega Typhoon and bullet hell games where you fly around will be good with this one. The gamers who are good with timing shots to kill enemies might not be so good here. I'm above average when it comes to most shooters, and stuff like Hybris and Swiv. Deluxe Galaga I won the round. But Im not going to be very good with this one.

Update:
The rules have been slightly updated today. If you miss a tunnel entrance you can press pause and take a snapshot of your score from there. If you get into difficulty at the entrances, players can always use a nova bomb to sweep away any bullets. The exit starts to flash when it is half way down the screen.

I've tried out all the weapons now and I use yellow almost all the time. Red has great spread but is far too weak. Blue has rear shot which doesn't seem useful unless you screw up. Green is quite weak until the very last upgrade. Yellow has good spread and high damage from the beginning.

In this run I messed up by losing a life, then losing another trying to get the upgrade back to max damage. From there I played it like a bullet hell for two more levels, which you can get surprisingly far by doing. Do lots of circling.

This is more like a bullet hell than I remember, so you may be on to something there. Last time was played this, Mike got over a million points, so you may have a star player.

I prefer the green shots, because they have very concentrated firepower.

This is the first time I have played a SEU with a mouse but it seems to me that Smart Bomb use is crucial and it's so much easier with the mouse button (I didn't manage it when practicing with a joystick)

Can you not configure your emulator for 2 joystick buttons? The WHDLoad version makes the second button smart bomb. It also has an option to disable the circle movement completely.

Someone should really make an HD ADF out of the WHDLoad version for those that don't know how to use WHDLoad.

The difference between having instant access to the nova missile with the 2nd fire button and having to do a whirl is immense.

Thats great capehorn, your score seems to have been added. Always let us know if we forget your scores as sometimes I only check this forum once a week.

Dont forget everyone, voting closes on round 7 soon.

Ok, for those lining up waiting for a HD ADF, I made one today, and you can find it in the first post.

This HD ADF is the only ADF that lets you use the 2nd fire button for the nova missile. You can even disable the whirl motion completely.

It needs Kickstart 3.1 to load and DF0: must be an HD drive:

I recommend every ADF user to switch to this as it is a huge game changer.

The HD ADF should be uploaded to the EAB File Server.

Hey not problem. Just take a screen grab of your score on a full screen screenshot, and write your score somewhere in the post.

Just checking in to say that I've played lots and still haven't beat my early score. That green level gets me every time.

It's been fun, though!
