2x FastRAM option for A4000 & A3000 models?

Hi Frode,

It is unable to deactivate the standard Fast RAM option if I choose Amiga modell 3000 or 4000/040. In this case I've seen, that a forced setting of FastRAM 8 MB add additionally 8MB Fast RAM to the config. In this case, the emulated Amiga have 16 MB Fast RAM.

Is this intended?

Yes and no. The A3000/4000 models add 8 MB of motherboard fast RAM by default, while the setting in FS-UAE Launcher controls the amount of Zorro-II fast RAM.

I'm aware that this is a bit unfortunate (as in confusing), and there's a couple of options:
- Add more memory GUI controls to FS-UAE Launcher (so more individual memory banks can be specified)
- Let the fast memory GUI control specify the motherboard fast RAM instead for applicable models (and also let it show the then-default 8 MB).

I haven't made any decision on this, and basically just postponed the issue altogether...

(You can manually disable the motherboard fast RAM with uae_a3000mem_size=0)
