re - releasing old games

Hallo again !

On the good old c64 it is normal to re release old games.
Groups like REMEMBER or NOSTALGIA build in megatrainers and fix it Theese groups also create new cracktros for the releases.

Would be nice to see such projects on AMIGA too.

One thing that differentiates that C64-scene transformation and the Amiga scene transformation is that the Amiga scene shifts more in the direction of making the old stuff work on more modern Amigas, general increased compatibility and 100% versions. Projects like WHD and CAPS (as well as HOL, TOSEC, etc.) are keeping it real and focusing on preservation. But some of the best crackers are still with us, ready to take apart any old title that never got an official (or working) crack. So Amiga preservation and the oldschool scene converges sometimes.

As TG said: the curent state of Amiga preservation is already very good and soon it will be excellent. (TG watch our site )

C64 guys have to deal with cracks and re-cracks while miggy lovers can have the real thing like - in alphabetical order :

CAPS for original disk images and packages
HOL for an extensive Amiga game museum
WHDLoad for harddisk players

(and some sites for crack collections if you still want those for whatever reason)

There is zero point in starting to re-crack stuff when the originals are available, more over they are perfectly playable/or can be playable once dumped - unlike any other system!
