UnRAR64.dll installed and no decompression on 64 bits
Is RAR decompression of CD-ROMs working on the WinUAE x64 version?
I installed the 64 bits UnRAR64.dll in the same folder as WinUAE x64 and checked the CDFS automount option on the CD & Hard Drives tab and started the emulation. After that I "inserted" a CD-ROM image compressed with RAR, to read it's contents on Workbench 3.1. WinUAE showed the archive name in the status bar, instead of the CD-ROM label, and AmigaOS recognized the archive as an NDOS disk. The CD-ROM image I am using is "Monstro (2500 Amiga Mods).rar" from the FTP. I also installed the 32 bits UnRAR.dll and did the same steps with the WinUAE x86 version, and it worked this time. Did I do it right in installing the 64 bits DLL with the original name? Or is there a special name that I should use to make it work? I did those steps with WinUAE 4.1.0 beta 9 and with the previous releases and that also happens to them. Last edited by Leandro Jardim; 12 November 2018 at 10:13. |

Check the log.
Something like "<path> version blah detected" should be logged when rar file is opened for the first time. Name is fine, multiple 64-bit name variants are automatically tested. |

I did not find any message in the log saying that the DLL was detected.

All I could see in your logs related to "rar" and "dll" was:

It seems rar support in 64-bit mode was disabled and replaced with archiveaccess, probably because 64-bit unrar.dll didn't exist when rar support was added.
Will be changed in next beta. |

Yes, I saw that too.
My intention was to make him read the log first. That's because I thought all those hardfile access messages seemed to be very strange for me. I did not want to talk to Toni anything so I would not annoy him. Thanks. |
