Hello! I have quickly playtested the following versions:
with: WHDLoad version 18 SWOS slave version 15 (?!) SWOS slave version 1.7 SWOS SWOS 11 SWOS 95/96 SWOS 96/97 My setup: A4000, KS3.1 with eFlashed ROM Update (OS 3.9), 24 Mb Fast, Commodore 040@25Mhz. I used the PRELOAD option of WHDload. Also tried one version of SWOS with NOCACHe option, but then the game suffered severe slowdown of general "play speed". Saving a career or season doesn't work properly. With two later versions (SWOS 95/96 and SWOS 96/97) the saving did actually succeed, but screen flashed and the game went nuts :-D With older version it quit directly to WB... Btw, should the Format Save disk option work with older versions ? I guess the installed game does it automatically with SWOS 11 or was it SWOS 96/97 ?! |

I tried also SWOS 94 floppy disk version (cracked by Crystal). It seems to work, but surprisingly(?) the game speed is noticeably slower (read: more playable and "realistic") compared to WHDload version !
Actually, with my quick playtesting of WHDload installed SWOS games I found no other speed issues, expect the game being too fast! :-D However, if I used the NOCACHE option, it was way too slow. (and now I remember, one version stuck while having side throw (well, what's that football term, er ?! :-o ) of the ball . |

The bugs remain for all SWOS versions of whdload, on any setup/spec:
- loading a tactic file (*.tac) does not work, all players on the tactic editor screen get squeezed in the bottom right corner - Reloading a saved career/DIY league/cup/tournament AFTER reboot does not work Those are the only two relevant things. I hope they can get fixed. |

Yeah too right. One of the all time best Amiga games, and it can't be made to run on certain specced Amiga machines. I remember first coming across this install like 10 years ago and having the slowdown issues back then, and i can't believe it still hasn't been fixed today!!! Lol

I totally get what you mean by that, the one problem though: time. From my point of view. It is really frustrating (and sad) that this project seems to be left on the back burner whilst other games seem to be finished (maybe even started later?) ahead of this gem of a game. Maybe you do have a point. Maybe if the code was released and someone/people could pick it up and finish it off? |

bump - anyone is working on this ?
it is a pity that swos whdload doesnt have update to fix the that 2 issues. is it only about the time or skill ? why whdload experts doesnt pick this game up as i can see that some of the others get updated |
