Now there are 70 people playing, and two from here.

Well, it's time for the last clues:

1) In Game 18 you are fighting against german Zombies.
2) Game 20 has nothing do to with an "Avenger".
3) Number 10 is neither from Capcom nor from Bethesda.
4) Title 25 is not "Beast Busters".

October Quiz - Answers & Score

Are all the dead back in their graves? Very good! It's time to end this round and post the answers... this month I tested a different score model, instead of the "one-point-per-game" rule I made the score much more dependent on the percentage of correct answers. While the cake is still worth 25 points, you'll get a much smaller slice (less points) for a simple answer as opposed to a tough game that barely anyone recognized.

However, the result is that most people have significantly lower scores. After posting the german-language results yesterday the feedback has been generally negative, and I will probably return to the original scoring method. Anyway, check for your name in this table (https://imgur.com/rXfXEoA) to see how you classify compared to the other system, and let me know your thoughts in a comment?

I can see where you are going with the new point system. I guess it can be interesting when someone knows some specific games/genres and manage to find some correct games which most other participants didn't find but also fails to find most other games. Hence with a few "rare" answers he could get a score close to someone who finds mostly "obvious" games.

I don't really have an opinion on which is best. In case you revert to the traditional point system, maybe you could offer (always? only on some quizzes?) the player the choice on which system he would his score to be rated this month.
That would make it a gamble.

Anyway, probably my worst score and yet I make it in the local top 3. Well, it is a bit like being 30th in the top 30 Virtual Boy/Jaguar games
I've never been into the zombie/horror craze and since I don't do a lot of modern gaming, the result was foreseeable.

Thank you for writing this. The feedback was mostly negative though, and I am no longer that convinced of the new method anymore either. It gives people that know a lot an even bigger advantage, and those who only recognise some classics get even fewer points... and with the old system you could tell right away how many answers you got right.

In case you revert to the traditional point system, maybe you could offer (always? only on some quizzes?) the player the choice on which system he would his score to be rated this month.

That sounds interesting, but to apply either system is a lot quite a bit of work... I'd rather not create twice the spreadsheet workload for myself.

November Quiz - the damsel in distress

In the past years there were already two riddles with the theme "female protagonists", where you had to guess games where the player characters were women. This month's topic however has a lot less empowerment, as we are only dealing with women in need of saving - the damsel in distress. Be it the abducted princess, a disappeared girlfriend or some helpless girl locked in a cage. As usual the games cover a wide range from classics to obscure indie titles, but you are probably used to that by now.

November Quiz - Clues #1

Thank you Mario, but our princess is in another Castle! Even though by now every game has been named correctly at least once, even the best participants so far are still several points short of a full score. Maybe some clues will help? ^_^

1) The following pictures show the intro of the game: 1, 10, 11, 13, 14, 17, 20, 23 und 25. I'm not sure about number 15.

Alright everyone, looks like you only have one week left to join this round, after that we'll determine who managed to save any princesses. The Top 10 starts at 19 points, so there's still plenty potential for all of you to get a nice score.
