Serial or parallel connection, perhaps?
If you can't do a real network connection using network items (because iffy hardware, as it seems), serial and parallel interfaces, a bit of freeware software and a cable may do the trick. |

I've setup serial based networks between Linux/BSD systems and Miami in the past. However if all you want to do is transfer files get yourself a copy of Minicom(OSX)/TeraTerm (Windows) and NComm (Amiga) and transfer them via ZModem.

Get a TCP/IP stack for your Amiga. Among the recommended at the time of writing are: - Miami - MiamiDX - AmiTCP An old version of AmiTCP can be had for free, Miami and MiamiDX must be pirated these days, as the author is refusing registrations. Here are comprehensive instructions on how to install the aforementioned free version of AmiTCP: http://www.acc.umu.se/~patrikax/amig...miTCP_Install/ After you have installed the TCP/IP stack and have managed to ping your Mac or your PC, you have some options: - FTP (ncftp, AmiTradeCenter) - SMB (make the shares on PC and use smbfs http://sourceforge.net/projects/amiga-smbfs/files/ ) - AmigaExplorer (the client is Windows only, you run the server on the Amiga and then the PC can access your files over the network) I'd probably recommend AmigaExplorer as it is the easiest to get going out of those three. |
