What year was that article published??

It was obviously sometime after the Gameboy... but before the GameGear.

I think before Gameboy ... The consoles in the article look like some old Atari 2600 or Mattel Intellivision...

Nice article. Probably very utopian at the time, but apparently very accurate. (has to do something with those time travelers )

Looking at the launch dates of the Gameboy (August 1989) and Atari Lynx (September 1989) I am sure you are right.

Hand-Held electronic games will still have liquid crystal displays, but they will probably be in full colour
They refer to the existance of LCD hand held games. Maybe Nintendo Game & Watch (1980)? But they were not particularly well known in the UK.

If you look at the hairstyle I think we are back to the begining of the 80'ies

And that Space shooter (Ultimate Game) look like a mix between a Concorde & Star Wars

Nice, looks like they're finishing the Exile-inspired game, looks way better than the beta I got from gamedev.net

That is a page from the "Usborne Guide to Computer and Video Games" (1982). Or, if not, it is from another book in the same series.

Their hairstyle predictions luckily proved inaccurate :-D

Im staturated of stupid predictions on the internet & television

but this case is the exception

they predicted soccer games with voice
and they predicted stupid strategy games like command & conquer (I hate strategy games)
also they predicted small consoles with LCD display like the GBA or the sony psp

not bad

however they fail of course to predict the internet arrival....that prediction was impossible by anybody in the era
instead they predicted radio transmitted games around the year 2000

I estimate that this article was done in 1983 or 1984

OOT

They predicted people playing against each other from hundreds of miles away using radio transmission. I don't know about you but I use wifi to play online against people hundreds of miles away on many of my computers and consoles and wifi is basically radio.
