Still didn't figure out how to loop, nor what loop means. Some levels remind me of vertical shmup.

One of least forgivin' games. Not just that everything can kill you, but you can kill yourself and most important part is what you can select as mutation.

Learned really fast to stay away from rocket launcher... :chees

Played Space Taxi 3 in cooperative mode via AmigaLive (first timer for me) on Hi7ch's Stream yesterday. Now that was fun

Also gave "Spy vs Spy" a go. I never understood this game but now I do and I must say it's fun. Against the cpu but also in 2 player mode

Never tried Space Taxi 3, nor I have idea how to play Spy vs Spy. I remember trying it on C64, but was inpatient to figure it out.

Exactly like me back then. A few days ago I gave it a shot and looked if I could quickly find out about - what the heck - to do. And... praise the internet it quickly worked out.

I quickly wrote a quickstart guide to spy vs. spy. For everybody and for me when I've forgotten how to play it next year

It's really a quite cool game (even more when written in 1984) and fun in 2 player mode (if you know how everything works you can play slowly and train your opponent/coplayer in no time). Okay, you probably need half an hour or a little more but then you quickly get the hang of it.

I haven't read your guide but in a nutshell...

You need to collect 3 pieces of an item and then escape. First player to do this wins. You can set various traps for the other player, also fight with them and then nick the pieces they have.

Yes, that's quite how it works. Just note that you need to collect 4 items and need the briefcase to be able to hold more than 1 item. Then exit through the door and "cleared for takeoff" Here is a shortplay [ Show youtube player ].

Dogfight by Richard Ling is great fun too with kids.

And mine loved Taran im Abenteuerland which is an Adventure for kids with lots of fun, in german language. (And to be honest it was the pc version we discovered, which -as a big bonus- has funny german dialect speechsamples. I even bought the dated shareware version directly from the programmer. A shame they dont exist in the Amiga version IIRC.)

Will check that, too. My kids love Lemmings and Shufflepuck Cafe.

Thank you for recommendations!

Another round of Stardew Valley. The game is limited enough to not warrant much replay value, but I have set myself the challenge to complete the community center in one game year... unsuccessfully so far, it involves a whole lot of luck to get a red cabbage from the traveling merchant which you can otherwise only get in the fall of the second year.

As a secondary/fallback challenge on top of that, I need to be maxed out friends with everyone before the end of the summer of the second year. Having harsh deadlines keeps the game interesting.

Meanwhile, a huge update is looming which will make cooperative play a lot more interesting, adding separated finances to the game features. That opens up the possibility to have races. First to make 10k, first to make a 100k, etc.

My kids love cooperative play in this game. I should at some point give it a go.

Installed and tried The Outer Worlds on computer. Couple first mission are fun and people behind scripts have good sense of sarcasm and humor. So far very nice and interesting game.

It's the perfect game to coax a partner into liking gaming. I've managed to get mine to play Stardew Valley, Terraria, Don't Starve Together, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-sequel en then Dead Island Definitive From innocent to murderous.

What little time I have for games has recently been spent on Link's Awakening on the Switch. It's gorgeous and charming, and feels so compact after playing any of the recent Zelda games. Still plenty of content, but it's the first Zelda game that my wife actually wanted to play. The mostly fixed viewpoint that reflects the original Gameboy version helped with that, because everything is a simple north/south/east/west feel as opposed to the freedom of a 3rd person 3D world. If you've played the original you'll know exactly what to expect as the maps and puzzles are more or less the same, but gorgeously rendered and nice depth-of-field tricks that make it look like it's all made with Playmobil or something. It isn't as big content-wise as any of the more recent games, but still definitely worth playing.
