F-29 Retaliator Special Mission - Illegal Copy
Heya guys,
With either of these coverdisks: ... Zero #12 (1990)(Dennis)(GB)[Oct 1990].zip ... Zero #12 (1990)(Dennis)(GB)[a][Oct 1990].zip Even if I use the original .IPFs, I get the following when the actual game play starts ![]() ![]() Go figure; not sure how to get around this? |

I wonder if the disks had protection. Is there an ipf?

No don't worry... it's seems as this was due to me editing some text in the "S/Startup-Sequence" on the "coverdisk" (as I just wanted the game to boot directly).
Grrr... |

On the original of Retaliator it prints that message and the plane drops out the sky if the Copylock check fails.

Another annoying thing though, which happens with the .IPFs and all cracks.
If you boot with 2 or 3 disks inserted i.e: DF0 = coverdiskWhen the coverdisk is booting you get these messages; which are related to Disk 1 & 2... ![]() |

Seems I must have been a muppet:

Those 2 x "Error validating disk" & "Disk structure corrupt" messages (one for each Disk 1 & Disk 2) are a real pain in a*** though. |

Sounds like there needs to be some sort of grand F29 Retaliator crack that lets you install all the missions to HD.

There isn't... checked already last night.
Only the normal version and it does't support F29 Retaliator Special Mission. The slave is very old: 1999-07-12 |

So from testing a bit last night; if I use any Kickstart ROM above 1.3 then you don't get the "Error validating disk" & "Disk structure corrupt" while booting; related to Disk 1 & 2... but the game doesn't get in-game.
If the coverdisk was made like some games to take over the system when booting then it probably wouldn't try scanning / accessing Disk 1 & 2 upon booting with Kickstart ROM 1.3. I don't have the skills to do that though. Of course if you normally only have Disk 1 and 2 (without the coverdisk) the game boots fine without the errors. |

Another question regarding this disk.
I'm sure you've all noticed that the title screen shows "F29 Retaliator II Special Preview Mission": ![]() Also when you die or I suppose finish the mission, you see this: ![]() Is this not a mission from "F29 Retaliator II" that never appeared on the Amiga (or any other system that I'm aware of)? |

My question relates to F29 Retaliator Special Mission, and not Epic.
Yes, there is Epic Extra Missions which can be found on "One, The #47 - Amiga (1992-07)(EMAP Images)(GB)(Disk 2 of 2)[Aug 1992].adf" but it's different to the YouTube video you've posted. |
