Problem connecting Amiga to TV

I’m trying to connect an Amiga 1200 HD to a Samsung TV using an RGB scart cable (this one: https://coolnovelties.co.uk/coolnove...693506661.html)

The screen cuts in half, however. Pictured attached.

Anyone have any ideas how to solve this? I’ve tried adjusting the TV settings. Is it a TV issue or a problem with the Amiga?

Is it a 3d tv, seeing it as a 3d input?
If so have you tried turning off 3d mode settings ?

Failing to sync. Can you select other AV settings?

It’s a standard 20-inch Samsung TV (it’s not capable of 3D). I’ve attached an image of the back connections (please ignore the HDMI cable - this was taken before I looked to connect the Amiga to it).

What would cause a failure to sync? The image only appears when I have the source as Ext.

Mine does this ... sync failure. Cable needs slight modification as per Ian Stedman:

Sorry to clarify mine shows image and the desynchronises but will show picture like yours every so often too hence assume same issue.

I decided to just get a CRT which is what I now use it with.

Did you do anything to stop it displaying like that or did it just seem to be temperamental?

Would this not be the classic 15Hz output from the Amiga and the TV only accepting 30Hz and above?

The scart RGB port supports 15khz or at least must have scandoubler built in.

Bought a phono lead to try and eliminate the issue (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391996138066) but the exact same image results. Does this point to a problem with the Amiga itself?

Test on another TV... I'd be surprised if it was out of sync using phono provided you put into correct port on TV.

Just so I’m 100% sure, what ports should I be plugging these cables? I’m matching the colours in the back of the Amiga.

Insert into yellow ringed one. I think it acts as component too so ensure you select right input on TV. Select AV on TV
Or RCA to SCART adaptor and plug into scart.

Just to update. I wanted to ensure the drive worked so inserted a disc. When the Amiga 1200 was powered up with the disc in the drive, the screen displayed perfectly. What would cause this oddity to occur?

More than likely the resolution change. I note when I use my laptop it will switch between video modes.
