Dungeon Master 3.6 Mapper
Hi
Just when I thought I knew most things about Dungeon Master I have just read that version 3.6 contained an automapper, that is a new one on me. If this is correct how did it work ? Thanks. |

Hi
Here is the context it was said in, I had mentioned Dungeon Master in the post before. " As far as i understand, the only issue that is left is that the return-key is not working in dungeonmaster. First a note: The official version 3.6 for the amiga might interest you. You can play it with the amiga-emulator for the Pandora. Especially because the amiga-versions offer sound of monster-steps, i do like them most. They add a strong portion of an somewhat eerie mood. Beside that the v3.6 also offers an automap - though this could be considered somewhat cheating. " |

Hey! Don't quote me on other forums! lol <kidding>
I was quite amused to find my own answer while doing a search for you. I must admit that i am not aware of how to get the map. I only read about it at the Dungeon Master Encyklopaedia (http://dmweb.free.fr/). Maybe it might be a spell. Or its existence simply is an incorrect information. Will investigate, sir. Edit: With so few information that i can find (or better: can not find) about this topic, it really seems like i got something wrong there. Looks like there is no such feature. I'm sorry for this false information and for making you search for it. :/ I will also edit the thread on the OpenPandora-board. Last edited by lomaxx; 14 July 2011 at 10:19. |

Sorry but DM 3.6 doesn't have an automap. No version of DM or CSB that i know of, have this.
3.x versions of CSB have a magic map, that is, map that shows the surroundings - similar to DM2's magic maps. It is made by just writing "MAGICMAP" on a scroll (unlike DM2 for which it's a different kind of object). But this map isn't in DM dungeon, and (i've checked the code) it is not supported by DM 3.6 at all. Btw. If you like playing DM on Amiga you can have a look here and try my new dungeons : http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=49830 (and btw i have implemented the magic map in my version, heheh) |

Thanks for the clarification and for the info about your self-made dungeon. Sounds interesting. At the moment i am a bit busy with other things, but i will bookmark it and hopefully remember to check it out later.
