cdtv's audio - only R working, not L
I bought a cdtv on ebay, and it seemed to work good.
But it has an audio problem. Only Right speaker (red cable) works, Left speaker (white cable) doesn't work. Tried different cables, but same results. So, what's the problem? maybe bad caps? or is it possible to set the audio in the startup menu? |

source of such problem might be leaking capacitors. if you can manage to open the case, compare it with these pictures:
http://amiga.resource.cx/photos/cdtv maybe you can identify a faulty part. take a snapshot of the board. |

I had the same problem with an A4000 motherboard a few years ago. After spending weeks at Analogic attempting to be repaired they gave up and I sold it on.
My problem was caused by a leaking battery though - IIRC the CDTV doesn't have one. |

Also check for cold joints on the RCA female socket.
