Joypad that's 100% compatible with CD32 Joypad?

Is there a joypad that's still being sold that's similar to CD32 joypad with the same number of buttons including the thumb buttons?

Yes, it's Boomerang, low quality but compatible.

I think you should try to find Honey Bee

These have just popped up on eBay. I did see them mentioned on various threads on here.

Apparently fully compatible and looks a reasonable price considering what the Honeybee's can fetch on eBay, tempted to get one myself. I gather those Boomerangs are pretty crap and too be avoided.

These are the ones which were developed by a user here on this board. He also did a mouse adapter recently too.

You can buy just the PCB & parts for £12 if you want to fit it into your own

Lol, of course not. It was never meant to replace the CD32 pad. btw: Buttons A and C are the same. So it's only a 2-button pad on Amiga, C64, Master System etc.

Will a Sega Genesis/ Megadrive pad work? I remember using those on my A1200 to play Brutal Sports Football but remember naught about which buttons did what.

Rather than make my own thread I'll use this one..

I have 5 megadrive II controllers can I use one for the Amiga 1200 without problems? I'll be using the original Amiga joystick with the Amstrad instead

The MD II pad works, of course only 2 buttons. What we need it a nice adapter for the good existing pads (and sorry NO PSX controller for Amiga games). Raphnet has a nice SNES to Commodore adapter but for 2 buttons only. I've asked Raphaël a few month ago for an enhanced CD32 adapter but he never replied.

I have an idea on the back burner for pressing 6-button Sega pads into service - I hope I'll have something to report within a week or two.

Yeah that one was PIC based, and I had trouble with PIC outputs not pulling low enough, and transistor switching speeds. I've been learning since then, and exploring the PSOC chips (PLD and microcontroller in a single chip) which really lend themselves to a project like this.

The first answer is 100% correct. Amigakit's controller does work, but it's horrible. Original, or preferably Honeybee. There's nothing else.

I got this hooked up and sort-of-working last night - four directions + 2 fire buttons are fine but my shift register implementation still needs debugging. Here's a photo, anyway

I'm very interested in this! PSX pads are OK but Megadrive pads are better! Even if I miss one button (one trigger) I'd rather use this.
Or what about Sega Saturn ones? Or while we're ambitious, USB pad to CD32

Sega Saturn would be easy except for the difficulty of obtaining connectors. USB is less easy but definitely doable - in fact I think someone's already working on such a device. I'm sure I read about it on here the other day?

I just mentioned USB because there are those Saturn USB pads and also SNES pads and more. It would be awesome!

Anyway, really looking forward to this you are doing. As I said, Sega 6 button [pads are my favourite controller EVER!
