Classic WB and the scalos window
Hello I am currently using classicWB anvsp on my a1200 030 and pretty much love almost everything about it EXCEPT the scalos window.
How exactly do i turn this off? i dont mean scalos itself just the window it runs in, much the same way that a fresh install of WB3.1 has workbench initially running in a window untill you tick the "background" button. I have looked through the options menu but cant seem to find anything that does it in there. any help would be apprieciated. also the only other thing i can think of adding to classic wb would be the app budgie, or at least i think thats what it is, the app that adds the extra menu buttons to the windows to show hidden files and adds one to switch to a filelist of the drawer contents. is this app compatible with classicWB? if it is i will add it myself. regards, Joe |

Hi I'm not at home right now, but let see if I can help you
Go to Workbench menu (top) and find a menu item called backdrop (I think it's in the menu before help) Then go down a bit with your mouse to an empty area, left click and go to 'snapshot all' option. That's it |

Hi and thanks for the reply, unfortunately that does not work with scalos i have already tried it, in fact i have tried everything i can think of and would believe it is not possible except other versions of classic wb seem to run scalos but not in a window/frame.
for some reason it bothers me having that window there. |

Well, lets try again. I'm using ClassicWB Full, but that should
work with all scalos-ClassicWB Start your Amiga, then when the Workbench appears type 'Left/Right Amiga Key+B' (In WinUAE is the Right Win Key+B) Then you should have the Scalos without the window. To save, click the mouse in an empty place of the screen and you should see a menu. Go to the item in the menu that says snapshot and click in all. |

As cybernoid says, you can use the keyboard shortcut just like a normal workbench to only show the background.
The option is also under the menubar at the top of the screen: Shortcuts->Default->Background Then snapshot. Not sure if budgie is compatible. ClassicWB already has menu options to show all files and change the display mode under the popup menu, which opens when you right click on a window. |

Go to Settings->Scalos->Prefs and then the Misc section. Remove the tick against Full Bench. Last edited by Bloodwych; 21 January 2009 at 22:58. |

By the way, I'm having troubles changing default drawer size:
Use to work replacing prefs:-etc-/sys/def_drawer.info now when I change, Whenever I open a drawer without .info, it opens a small window but not with the size of the def_drawer.info ClassicWB Full+WinUAE ...and congratulations, ClassicWB is excelent |

Hmm, I just tried replacing def_drawer.info in the SYS:Prefs/EnvArc/Sys location with a new file containing a different window position and size.
As expected, after a reboot, it also replaced the new default window position for all drawers without icons and new drawers created with icons. I'm not sure why it's not working for you. |
