Can moderators please state why a closed thread is closed?

Rather than just 'closed' (see). Then it might not happen again.

Thank you.

Well it's not obvious to me and it certainly wouldn't be obvious to those who don't have an anal knowledge of the board. I am making a valid point, it would be valuable to respect it as such.

It was not obvious to me either. Perhaps you can explain.

How gracious of you. My point isn't exclusive to the example. I am merely worried at the prospect of threads being closed willy-nilly without explanation to the board at large. This happend before and after lots of pestering it stopped. I don't want to see the same mistakes happen again.

You know, for the good of the board....

Quite useful, especially for people who weren't following these threads or newbies who read the threads a long time after.

Are you serious that it was because of that mild picture? Then why didn't you remove it when locking? Still sounds strange to me.

I feel that locking was enough to let this thread die.
I don't think that posting such pic and saying 'it's akira" is nice, even if it's supposed to be fun

As admin the choice to close a thread is yours but the reason why should be made clear for all users. Thanks for providing an explanation. Hopefully if threads are closed in the future an explanation will be provided without any prompting.

It does seems that worst things have been said without closer. In off-topic where is the line?

If a thread is closed without anyone noticing, is it really closed... or ever existed?

Isn't that like the tree falling in a forest? If no one sees or hears it does it happen? Unless it falls on fisken, then the answer is obviously no.
