thanks for all the help guys
in the end i managed to get hold of another a1200 (mate up the road had 2 so gave me one) so i just swapped over my keyboard, hard disk, floppy drive and ram card and seems ok formatted 100 or so disks so far and no probs ... so looked like a prob with the board itself |

Do you still want the external floppy jailer? couldnt post it yesterday or today as we have a foot of snow here and it's still snowing heavily.
