I'll upload it for you as soon as I have found it.

Edit: Beachcomber's Guide to WShell is in The Zone for you!

It's interesting you should say that, because I've never got it to work either.

Actually, I misunderstood your request initially. I had forgotten that the WHshell manual was called The Beachcomber's Guide, and I thought you were wondering where all the previous uploads had got to and was asking for a beginner's guide to using the Zone.

You're welcome. Actually, I'm not sure whether the Beachcomber's Guide ever made it to the EAB File server, so I uploaded it to the Zone again just to make sure you could get it.

It's a problem with the few files that are on it (the search simply times out). It works if you're in a subfolder. TOSEC might require that you select a quite specific subfolder though.

Hmm... Yes, that makes sense. I've usually got a good idea where to start looking, so it shouldn't be a problem. I just won't try using it as a short-cut any more.

Hello,
This is a message in a bottle.
After a very long search in my hard drives, I have concluded that I have recently killed my only backup of WShell v2. So I have looking for this Holy Grail, but it is still a myth.

You're right! I could introduce myself.

I am a french, as indicated in my english, who reads regularly the sub-forum/Coders Heaven and principally the assembler threads.

Thank you for your welcome.

Hiya. Forgive me for bumping this thread yet again. I have WShell 2.0 installed on my A3000T. I still have the manual and the original diskette, so the fact that I want to move it to E-UAE instead shouldn't be a problem except for one thing: I can't read the diskette any more. It was stored properly, but I guess 20 years really is a long time for a floppy diskette to retain all its marbles.

I tried to rebuild WShell by reverse-engineering the installation information in the manual and copying individual files from the A3000T, but did not succeed. If anyone could supply me with an archive or disk image, I would sure appreciate it.

Hi Altivo, and welcome to EAB!

I've uploaded a WShell v2.0 .ADF image to The Zone for you!

If you don't have access to The Zone yet, follow the link below:
How do I get access to The Zone?

Got it, thanks so much. Works fine in E-UAE. Looks like I'd better use it to put back the missing bits on the A3000T as well. I know I never used FComp, but Execio should have been on there for sure. Mice must have been nibbling my hard drive bits or something. ;D

Hello,
I am very interested in learning ARexx, and as i saw at the excellent "ARexx Cookbook" by Merrill Callaway, WShell is a must. Unfortunately i can't find it. Is it possible to upload it again?

Thanks.

The .ADF is back in The Zone for you.

Would you like the manual (.PDF) as well?

It's up in The Zone for you now. (This one's a bit bigger: ~10MB).

I am going to check WShell tomorrow on my real A1200. As Callaway says in his book this shell is so great because it is a host application with its own message port and address, so ARexx is transparent to it.

Many thanks again for your great help!!
