Nice video. Incredible speeds - very tempting to get hold of a Pistorm after seeing this. Am I right in assuming you can use the HDMI output from the Pi3A+ directly or do you still need RGB to HMDI adaptor for this to work?

You mean connecting to the existing RGB to VGA/SCART?
I'm a fan of CRT (240p) but that would mean relying on lower resolutions as the capability of CRT isn't great unless there is interlace to get higher resolution? |

No, you just connect the HDMI output from the Raspberry Pi directly to your digital screen. The adapter is just to get VGA output as no CRT have HDMI. |

I hope the problems with interrupts and chipram access speed can be solved. Development has gone vey quiet

Regarding Emu 68 it has not gone quiet at all but the interrupts, chip speed I heard no news about. It can very well have gone quiet and I would not bet anything that it will be solved at all. I would first of all look at Pistorm, Emu 68 as an Amiga NG solution. As I show in the video I use RTG where chip speed do not matter at all. I have not tried many original Amiga PAL games yet. I tried Agony and that game ran perfect. The plan is to test a lot of stuff in the future and put up some videos. To get the perfect solution we for sure would want PiStorm to run all 68k games and other stuff as the original hardware. I wonder if a board could be made so it would be possible to have a switch using Pistorm or 68000. I'm really impressed how good Emu 68 already is. It is by far the fastest 68k every seen on original hardware. It is by far the cheapest solution for a fast 68k CPU with RTG gfx. Next up is WiFi. All is taken from the Raspberry Pi. It could even come drivers to use the Pi audio with AHI and even the 3D chip. For future Arm chips god knows how fast this can be. Almost 1000 MIPS with Pi 3+ Last edited by nikosidis; 13 May 2022 at 10:19. |

PiStorm is missing the HW for bus arbitration so it cannot disable other CPUs on the bus in the traditional manner. There is talk of adding it (it is needed for CDTV) but no-one is actively looking into it.

How can one transfer file to system? There is the usb port on pi, can that be utilized? Or can card be accessed by winuae?

Love PiStorm, not so much your camera movement. Makes me dizzy. (and that is not that easy )
Should probably use station for camera or record just video output. |

You can have an additional FAT32 partition which can be read in Windows and AmigaOS (With Fat95 installed) for transferring files between the two. (You just have to ignore the Windows nagging to format the Amiga partition). As soon as Wifi drivers are implemented then you will be able to FTP over Wifi. |

On the micro-sd card where you install the Amiga system there is a FAT partition. You can size that partition to whatever you like. That partition can easy be mounted inside AmigaOS to copy to and from. Other solution I'm using is SD-Box. It is this adapter on the Parallel port also using micro-sd card, FAT formated. Floppy or Gotek is also working but that is very old school and limited The USB ports on Pi is not working. That would need a hardware driver and software like Poseidon. Since WiFi is in the works that will be another solution and probably the best. Set up some FTP server and you are done |

Are you complaining about my fantastic filming Sorry, but I just do this so people can get an idea of how things work. A video camera on a stand I have but in this case it did not do what I wanted it to do. If the filming is only on the screen it is good but when you need to film other stuff around and maybe zoom in a little it is not that easy. Filming CRT is another problem and I do not like captures. Last but not least I'm not using ages to make some kind of pro. vids. It is one take and done |

PiStorm32 seems to be on hold. Not seen anything about it for months. I think the developer, Claude Schwartz, only has a limited amount of time and he's doing other things.
If you want it then maybe encourage Claude to concentrate on PiSTorm them maybe ask him to start a Patreon? Then we can all pledge our appreciation. Last edited by alexh; 17 May 2022 at 00:12. |

This board is smart!
With this board you can just take PiStorm out and keep the original CPU to be 100% compatible [ Show youtube player ] |
