but try the Aladdin version which I have uploaded to the zone it's a nice release because it have a cracktro with trainer but 2nd button not works in the new winuae version but works well on my A1200 it seems that developers of Aladdin developed the game on a A1200 Rev 1.x while rev 2B was made later ...comes with a strange bug related to 2nd button if whdload ppl talk about a fix of the 2nd button.....they don't know exactly but they talk about a fix for the A1200 rev 2B |

You still haven't said if your pad has pullup resistors (I am 99% sure it does)
Does the original or JST version (or "2nd button non-fixed" whd version) work in NTSC mode and fail in PAL? (Pot counters overflow in PAL but does not in NTSC in one frame) |

I use megadrive compatible pad. Why making thing wierdier than they should be ?
i use an XE-1SG from Sega, kind of arcade coin-op stick (very solid and use the exact same mecanism as a coin-op machine, so unbreakable). I also use quickshot joypads. |

You are still only bringing useless noise to this topic and wasting my time.
I repeat: PADS WITH PULLUPS -> OFFTOPIC. Measure it or go away, names are irrelevant. Thanks. Even OP mentions that this issue only occurs with joysticks without pullups (which includes WinUAE second/3rd button emulation) |

Ok, take it like that : i never heard of 2 buttons pads using no pullups, and back in time,
games using 2 buttons routines were meant to be used with megadrive compatible pads. it's true that the 3rd button is not 'natural' on amiga (for instance the little work to do on a pad for flashback for ex.) Sorry if you think i'm doing noise. PS: just to test, i have picked aladdin.zip in the zone. My A1200 refuses to make it run. So no test.... Last edited by dlfrsilver; 27 September 2010 at 20:26. |

It is known that all 2-button games work perfectly fine with pads including pullups. (but I don't understand why they didn't trust HRM description and use output mode, it would have worked with both types of pads..)
I am trying to solve why some non-pullup joysticks/pads work with some Amiga models (or do they?) Fabie, could you test if latest WHDLoad Aladdin (slave v1.4) have working second button? (with non-pullup pad) It does not work on my real A1200. Button gets stuck. Potgotest program shows that button gets stuck on your Amiga, just like on my A1200 too. Note that this does not test non-whd Aladdin second button read routine, it uses POT counters, not POT io-bits and this could be different. Different test program needed for this. EDIT: I have same problem with that aladdin version.. crashes. |

Ancient information, time before A1200 cycle exact modes. Disk versions work fine.

(Aladdin) Once upon a time ... in Klondike...
Tell me about it. Because when I had been fiddling around with a configuration for this one, we had WinUAE 0.8.15 beta 2 (leaked/unofficial) resp. 0.8.22 R1. (that was 8 years ago, face it peeps!)

BTW, and OUT OF TOPIC because we are discussing 2nd button issue
the Aladdin crack done by prodigy it is very buggy will work on real A4000 without any problem but it will not works on a real A1200 out of timing it worked fine on A1200 rev1.4 without any modification which I had but on the rev1.D1 I have at the moment not worked until I did certain timing fixes so.. maybe....and maybe....if anyone want to know if own A1200 needs timing fixes....the solution is test Aladdin prodigy crack Last edited by Fabie; 28 September 2010 at 16:56. |

Does all Amiga-compatible gamepads have 3 buttons? Or do some only have 2 buttons?
I probably add another GamePorts device type ("gamepad" under "digital joystick") which enables pullups and maps 3 buttons by default. |

Ok. It's then at first a not amiga compatible joypad you have customized.
This means if tomorrow i pick any joystick not made for the amiga and then brag out to Toni, hey it doesn't work, he will then modifiy Winuae for that ? This means that if you add the pullups yourself, the problem is ironed out ! i'd be interested to hear you Toni about this really.... |
