Bought this Toshiba 32W1333 - 32" HD Ready LED TV with Freeview from Amazon for 219.00

It replaces our old Sony Trinitron set which used a set top box to receive digital transmissions, but which went kaputt last Thursday evening.

It was delivered yesterday morning and I installed it in the evening.

(Since Thursday evening, my wife Christina had been using my PC monitor (a Toshiba 19-inch widescreen LED TV) to watch her favourite programmes, so the need for a new set was urgent! )

Not quite. The resolution is only 1366x768. Full HD is 1800x1024, IIRC, but what we have looks okay from where we sit.

Yes, that little Toshiba I got from eBay is still so good that I didn't really have any choice when it came to finding a replacement for the knackered Sony. It's good to hear that you like them too!

Can't wait to see my Amiga Workbench displayed at 32 inches!

I found a very cheap, used iCade in a second hand comics book store here, at that price I had to try it out... it works very well with Metal Slug, and Another World (haven't tested other games yet).

Serial to USB adapter to replace the one supplied with the SMART 500 Series Interactive Whiteboard so you can use it in Windows 8. Uses the newer Prolific PL2303HX Rev D Chipset which has Windows 8 drivers, the original supplied by SMART uses the older PL2303 chipset which has no driver support for Windows 8.

NOTE: You will also need a 9pin Serial Gender Changer, Female - Female, as the serial connectors on the SMART 500 are MALE!!

I thought they were always male? Female to female usually needed for null modem links? Do you have a link where you purchased this please as I need Windows 8 compatible version too. Thanks.

It was bought from Amazon UK and the drivers were from Prolific

I haven't tried it yet as I didn't realise I needed the gender changer!! I'd hang fire until I've tested mine on one our SMART 500 boards and see if it really works!!
