Buying *NEW* DS/DD Floppy Drives?
I want to transfer a bunch of demo disks to floppy for watching them for real (emu can only reach so far) on my A500.
But an A500 is only as good as its internal drive really. If they start to perform poorly it seems IMPOSSIBLE to buy a New one. Boxed external drives pop up on eBay now and then, but internal drives are rare indeed. You say, so buy an A500 with external drive for 15 bob on eBay. But then I get a used set of drives. I want to rely on my drives! New DS/DD disks can be bought from stores, since they are still needed for equipment like synthesizers etc. So that's a non-problem. The only way seems to mod a HD floppy drive, like the ones amigakit.com have in stock for A1200s. Is that at all possible, and how? |

the 600/1200 (non-escom) FDD's are not HD, they are slightly short and not a full height drive compared to an A500 FDD.
