CD Rom compatibility
Hello!
I have replaced my old Asus cd rom player with a "new" one off Ebay.In the past I have used Creative players as well as Asus and never had an installation problem.I use IDEFix Max for the necessary software but it refuses to recognize the "new" player.Does anyone have a list of compatible cd players or do they know of a workaround to get the software to reckonize the cd rom that I have installed. Thanks for your time - I live in hope Dave |

Any modern ATAPI CD/DVD/BD+/-ROM/R/RW should work with IDEfix.
Did you set the jumpers on the drive correctly ? Which version of IDEfix do you use ? Try IDEfix97 from Aminet which should be the latest. |

CD Rom compatibility
Hi Thomas,
You must be getting sick of dealing with me but I shall give it another go.I use IDEfix from Aminet but when the time comes to find my cd rom drive when installing the software the machine does not lock up - I can still use it but the installation freezes.I have left it for hours and It still wont install.I shall re jumper the device and see what happens. Thanks again for your help Dave |
