This is why I truly hate the AmiKit - they are trying to monopolize everything. I have no problem paying for Amiga software and its updates - but making the updates of standalone software available only as a part of some big bloatware package is a big no-go for me.
For 30 i would've expected at least a licensed copy of amiga os 3.9 or os 3.x from cloanto. Plus it pisses me off to the 9th power that he keeps the updated stuff for himself (afaos, etc..)

Yep, definitely trying to monopolize the Amiga emulation side of things. I won't use it and use AmigaSYS instead, it's also more Amiga like than Amikit which is trying to be the Amiga Windows!
He'll see no sale from me.

Dont you think he's a bit, Anti-Consumer? Plus yeah I really loved AmigaSYS. But the dev of that is in need of cash. We should support the competitor instead.

I dont quite get why you get pissed off tho, as hes providing an alternative, and probably puts in quite a few hours to compile it.
People are free to do it themselves, or pick alternatives like AROS, AOS 1.2, 1.3, BetterWB, etc etc

Why people go into hostile mode just cause its not their cup of tea is a bit curious.

Yes we should. I use it in emulation and on my Amithlon machines. I shall be donating what I can soon.
And yes I agree, very anti-consumer, even more so now that A-eon and Hyperion are working with him!

He keeps the updates to himself. Yes, I understand that the cost justifies hia hardwork, and yes its very feature rich and nice to use. However why did he kept the updates to certain libraries to himself. It doesn't benefit users of said libs who may be wairing for a bugfix or an update. Plus for €30 he could've included a version AmigaOS so you get more for your money and just give the option to upgrade later.

No hostile mode here, just rejection! There is various reasons for it, but paying for software isn't one of them.

I want to tell about what I've tried and I would prefer to know from people that have just tried the update, if you don't mind.

I like a lot -what I'm trying now- the AmiStart update as it adds a lot of preferences that you can use, and you have now -for example- shown on the bar the processes you are running, showing the amount of ram they are using.

It is a great update of AmiStart IMHO.

I just want to comment now about this update that I'm trying, because there are several ones and there are some, just like this, that weren't updated for several years. Years is something I believe that should always be taked in consideration, but of course that's just my opinion.

And the reason he deliberately holds back these updates of freeware from the rest of the Amiga community is...?! For his own personal profit I suppose?
