I ~LOVE that intro and music. (just watched it again heh) A friend and I would reset the Amiga a couple times before playing that (seriously). When I think of Amiga game intros, that's the one I think of.. (and maaaybe Awesome, but that, while smooth and decently long, was 'just' a rendered movie.. very cool, but... Blood Money had that music, a couple pics, the bouncing asteroid things..) Anyhoo, nothing to really contribute to the thread, but just had a flashback I thought I'd share.

Found it!!

The origins of the sample from the Earth, Wind and Fire album , ''System of Survival.'' (1987 or so)
is from a news report on the Iran/Contra scandal.

It is possible to view new york times archives from 1987, and find a headline such as "THE IRAN-CONTRA HEARINGS have made it to the dance floor."

Yeah Bruce!

Although if Mike got his hands on him he might snap him like a twig, but I reckon Bruce would be too quick and give him 100 rapid punches to the face followed up by the same stomping he gave O'Hara in Enter the Dragon.

Recently on Mobygames, leilei asked about the origin of the samples in the title music. djindio gathered various items of information, including one that refered to this very thread.

Some stuff does not seem to be mentioned here, so here is a bump and some quoting:

Quote:
The "oi you, shut your mouth and look at my wad" sample is from the beginning of the 1988 Harry Enfield track "Loadsamoney (Doin' Up The House)":
[ Show youtube player ]

==================
The "the biggest unanswered question is where is the money" sample comes from the beginning of the 1987 Earth, Wind & Fire track "System of Survival":
Album version: [ Show youtube player ]
Music Video/Single version: [ Show youtube player ]

EDIT: Found a similar question here searching for the game title and the quote "where is the money" as well:
http://askville.amazon.com/biggest-u...uestId=5104969

==================
The "Hit It" sample is taken from the beginning of the 1988 Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock track "It Takes Two" (at the end of the intro just before the beat starts):

==================
Is there an extracted copy of that Amiga MOD track from the game, so the samples can be listened to one by one? (It might be easier to ID the source of the other samples if I could take them out of the context of the games song and listen to them without the other noises and instruments).

The "there's a whole lot more coming" sample = ??

The "yeah" female voice sample = ?? ...has me thinking maybe a late 80's UK House or Synth-pop track, but I can't place it at the moment.

The sound of a 'record being spinning backwards' sample = ?? ...I know the record from which that sample originates, just can't place it at the moment.
