[Request] PHAZER light gun

First of all: I *bet* you may as well use a C64 light gun on the Amiga, for it's the same port connector!

Does anyone have no Amiga but this baby lying around somewhere and wants to sell it?
Believe it or not; I looked on ebay and found ZILCH.

These guns are quite rare these days, it seems.

One sweet day, Toni could write a small app for my real A1000, and I could tell him the offsets of the hardware, so he could include support for Phazer guns in a future version of WinUAE!
Games like Aliex and Orbital Destroyer would no longer be a closed book then!

I highly doubt it would work like that. The exiting pens stuff for Amigas only worked on certain standard screenmodes, so I doubt it would be easy to implement, especially expecting it to work on an actual Amiga AND emulated...

Pens?
You aren't confusing a light pen with a light gun, are you?

No. Which is why I said Light PEN. I assume they work on the same basis, so I explained how the Light PENs react as I am sure the light GUNS work in the same way.

Not really needed. Light guns (and pens) are all working the same way. There's a photo cell in the light gun which detects when a pixel (on the tv screen) goes from dim to bright. If this happens, a signal is sent back. This signal forces the video chip to store the current coordinates in memory. If you press the trigger, the software will check these coordinates to detect a hit/miss. That's all...

Maybe you have to disassemble a game to find out where the coordinates are stored, but that's not really a problem. (at least, not for Toni )
