Game saving with Gotek

I'm having reliability issues with gamesaves using the Gotek - Simon the sorcerer "loses" gamesaves randomly and Lure of the temptress refuses to save to a blank ADF
Is this a known issue with the Gotek ?

I would really prefer to be able to keep use of my Internal drive and save to real blank disks, although this will mean having to switch between the real drive and the Gotek.

Will I be able to do this with a split 2 into 1 floppy cable and a simple switch to the power supply line ?

Thanks !

Edit :- Looks like I may have a hard time finding a two way floppy ribbon cable !!

It is certainly an issue with the cortex firmware. It also very unstable if you try to copy a physical floppy disk onto a blank ADF too. I believe the HxC firmware is better for copying and saving gamefiles.

That's such a shame when a lot of my fav games use game saves !

Ok so after trying many games & losing lots of saves I've gave up now & ordered an ACA 1221 for the Amiga - I'm hoping WHDload games don't have a problem with saving !!

Wish i'd known about this before buying the Gotek, but it will still come in handy for loading all those cracktros / trainers !
