Which Workbench A500 with ACA500plus

So I had my Amiga 500 for a few months now and all was going well working with floppies and wb1.3

Now my ACA500plus has arrived. I now have the new world of workbench 3x. To quickly get up and running I threw a copy of classic workbench on a Cf card so I could play some whdload games.

Now I have read a little on different sites about wb3,3.1,3.1.4 and 3.5,3.9.
I’m wondering what are the differences and how important would they be. I am using an Amiga 500 with aca500plus 1mb chipram (thanks to the aca500plus) 7.5 fastram and 512kb trapdoor) I do plan on adding an accelerator to the aca500plus later in the year. I Mainly use my Amiga for Whdload games and demos, I do like to experiment with all kinds of software 3D modeling, animation etc.

What version and software would you recommend as my ideal workbench setup?

The best thing to do is set up a cf card which will dual boot OS1.3 and OS3.1. So if you select a ks1.3 configuration in the ACA500Plus menu it will auto boot OS1.3, and if you select a 3.1 kickstart it will boot workbench 3.1. You then have the best of both worlds. A harddrive-equipped 1.3 machine is a nice thing to play with

I wouldn’t bother with os3.9 on a 500 tbh

You can add a kickstart 3.1.4 rom into the ACA500Plus’s flashrom if you want and then install OS3.1.4 - it has some improvements over 3.1 so might be a nice thing to try.
