Altered Beast Sega US release 1 disk

I noticed there isn't a WHDLoad for this 1 disk version, who can I contact to have them help update the install to support this version? I have the original disk. What is the best way to image the disk? I get a bunch of errors when I use DIC.

@TjLaZer
You have a copy protected game, so you have to use another programme like:
MFMWarp ;
WWarp;
or RawDic.

Also you can make an ipf file and send it to The Software Preservation Society (SPS) with KryoFlux FREE (A software based imaging solution for MFM encoded 3.5" DD disks for the Amiga, no additional hardware required).

Will these preserve the disk? I tried RawDIC and cannot figure out how to use it. I also tried the Freeware IPF maker ADF and it will not boot on my Vampire A600. Crashed on boot. But it seems to be working on my A2000 030/25 WB 3.1!

edit: Used MFMWARP and made a 1.0MB MFM file. Not sure if this worked. Will test the IPF I am making to see if it works in WinUAE!

The best way to preserve the disk is to request the SPS dumper for AmigaOS (full details are on their website) you need an 020+ and 5-6MiB and they will give you an app which performs a quick test of your Amiga to see if it is capable of dumping disks.

http://www.softpres.org/faq:imaging_disks:requirements

The file that it spits out needs to be sent to SPS and they will analyse the disk to see if it has been modified and if not they will convert it, test it and release it back to you as an official IPF

All this SPS bashing should be removed from this thread!

On topic: Had a quick look, your image is broken, there's a checksum error on track 4 at least, tracks 29-39 don't appear to be correct either. Rest is OK (SYNC is $4854 except for track 2 and 3 which use $A245).

When using Kryoflux Free can this happen if you have hardware which causes IRQ's?

I seem to remember having to remove one of my Zorro cards (X-Surf?) from my Amiga before I could perform correct dumping with the original CAPS/SPS dumper.

I have no idea as I never used Kryoflux. My first guess would be a bad disk though.

Altered Beast Sega US release 1 disk

I did it on a 2000 with 2630 and DKB 2632 and dataflyer IDE. Turned off caches. I'll redo it on another stock 1200 I have.

Ugh, my original disk has gone bad! That's why there are so many errors. Game will not load now. Was working before. Disk looks brand new, what a shame!
