Amiga 600 production line photos

Not sure if this has already been posted but just seen it on Twitter.

1992 production line photos for the Amiga 600 from Hong Kong.

Wow, thanks for sharing that find, Dave.

BTW, I've moved your thread to the Nostalgia & memories forum.

Some of those are the pick and place machines (the ones with all the rolls), they place all the components

Yes defiantly pick and place machines, we had a smaller version of those at my first job where we made the motherboards for clocking in machines we built, don't see a flow solder machine, I doubt they would have hand soldered all those boards though (The one job I hated doing, soldering components to boards)

I will have to have a look if the a500/2000 was wave soldered i dont remember seeing an arrow on the pcb indicating the direction through the machine although... the 600/1200 would be reflow soldered even if its not seen.

Thought they would be, would not want to have to hand solder all of those components lol

Wow, it's so strange to look at these pictures. Somewhat depressing too.
I look at that rack (half) full of A600 boards and think "Is my board among them?" and "How many of those are still working?"

Interesting pics, had exactly the same thoughts. I always find obsolete industrial stuff slightly depressing in this way, so much effort and so little left

Interesting looking test rig hooked up to an A2000 too.

That's the test rig I was talking about, looks like the A600 is in a recess with every port plumbed into that A2000. Maybe I'm seeing it wrong.

Pic11 is funny, looks a bit like my place. I wonder if test benches at IBM or Intel look like that.
