The pads by spi are test pads for patch wires.

No I’ve just started making the firmware now

Awesome progress,

Question on the Fastmem address location. The Action Replay cartridge sits at $400000 i think, does mem location clash ?

No this board is ZIII (or will be)... i've currently got it running ZII but i have everything wired up to put the RAM in the 32 bit address space.

Anyone have any idea what instruction is failing here. I get a 100% repeatable outcome. Always same address. Not a bug in systest.. I tried with WinUAE but I think something is different as the instruction at 6be0 is BTST.L #4,d2 ... and that is unlikely to cause that fault.

in my opinion - it's not the best idea to debug it under 40.72 ROM since there are many negative reports this rom related, in other hand, if Your card will run on it - it will run on 40.63 too
