The best CD32 games

I've just got myself a CD32, which I have wanted ever since I was a kid.

Now the question is:

What games should I get for it?

What are the best CD32 games?

What games really pushed the capabilities of the CD32, had the best graphics, sound, FMVs etc?

Help me out guys.

There`s not much, I`m afraid. Here`s a list of well done conversions or exclusive games:

Alien Breed - Tower Assault ...fmv intro/outro (includes a.b. 2!)*
Beneath a steel sky ...speech
Chuck Rock 2 - Son of Chuck ...fmv(I think)
Darkseed ...speech
Defender of the Crown 2 ...exklusive
Flink ...exklusive*
Gunship 2000 ...intro (incl. pirates gold-demo)*
Inherit The Earth ...speech
Labyrinth of Time ...exklusive
Liberation - Captive 2 ...intro/outro/speech
Litil Divil ...exklusive
Microcosm ...exklusive*
Pirates Gold ...exklusive*
Prey: Alien Encounter ...exklusive
Simon the Sorceror ...speech
Super Stardust ...intro/outro*
Ultimate Body Blows ...exklusive*
Wendetta 2175 ...exklusive
Wing Commander ...aga-version
Worms ...full motion video

get those marked with *! ;-)

simon the sorcerer

total carnage

inherit the earth

flink

defender of the crown 2

vendetta 2175

worms

wing commander

microcosm

liberation captive 2

gunship 2000

prey

Happy Playing!

Lotus Trilogy - (Lotus III is actually faster and hence playable on CD32!!)
DotC II
SSF2 Turbo

I would say Super Stardust but the CD32 music is horribly tacky compared to Rib's awesome AGA Mod tunes...still a great game though, one of the best shootemups on any system of any era end of story.

Probably loads more, can't think now my CD32 is a bit knackered lately

edit: Flink seconded (looks like a nice polished SNES platformer) and Fighting Spirit too.

Shadow Fighter's good, as is Roadkill, as is Fire & Ice, but the one game that made me glad I had a CD32 was Guardian (3D Defender with funky CD soundtrack).

There are a couple of CD32 Sensible Soccers, but they're pre-SWOS and a bit small scale. Still enjoyable, of course. I also remember enjoying PGA European Tour, too (golf with cute presentation).

Sadly, not many games pushed the CD32 or made particularly good use of its CD/FMV capabilities. Speedball 2 felt noticeably more flashy on it, so maybe give that a try.

lol, just noticed the original post date on re-reading the thread. I suspect that EternalAmiga will have tried every CD32 game worth trying as well as those that aren't by now

Mmm, Battletoads

Is there any kind of list of CD32 games that will point out every difference to floppy releases? I wonder if I could miss some gems?

Super Stardust - also got short animation when You kill level guardians
Denis - got cd tracks, both music and sfx
Buba and Stix - also got both music and sfx
etc...
