An Adventure game

It was an adventure game (Could only move from one location to the next, no actual walking around) where I had to defeat an evil wizard. I think the quest was to find some kind of jewels or stones in order to defeat the wizard.
There were two monster sent fom evil wizard in the first room of the game which could only be defeated by hitting them on feet.
There were a few npcs to be found along the jouney, which would join party, one which had to be rescued (A boy I think).
And there was a mummy that had to be defeated near the end.

Was it real-time or turn based?

Ignore my isometirc comment earlier, I had that part of description wrong.
It was real time I guess, since there was often only a certain amount of time to do something once entering a location.

Huh? Don't get this part at all.
Sounds kinda like futuristic to me, as if you only traveled by using transmitters or teleporters
So are you REALLY sure you didn't have to control your character anytime by joystick or cursor keys?

Google rules!
For anyone else not being a RPG fanatic wondering what a NPC is, it's a Non-Player Character.

I meant I could not walk around each location in the game, the only options were to interact with the enviroment or move to next location via arrows.

Sorry to be a pain but...

Did you advance *to next picture or scene* by pressing the arrow or did you just advance *one step*?
In the latter case, it's exactly as if you controlled the character by joystick, you just don't use it but the mouse and arrow buttons to control it.

It was the former case, of advancing to next scene by pressing the arrow keys.

It sounds more like an RPG than an adventure game.

Is it Dragon Stone? (Not sure about the name, I know it's a fantasy based game where you use a magic scroll alot to get through puzzle bits.)

After looking through several web sites with game screenshots, it looks the game was The Final Battle. So your right, it was an RPG, rathar than an adventure game. Was so long ago I could not remember that game that well...

Eek

I can hardly believe it.
This thing looks like CADAVER, especially when you look how the screen is divided up into sections!
Not to mention those big squares in the lower section.

Now who took the game idea (and a bit of the design) from whom? Both games were released in 1990, so what game was released at first?

How about saying noone took the idea from noone. Cadaver and the final battle are still very very different in that Cadaver has more movability but not as detailed backgrounds and doesn't play that much on those kinds of puzzles.

It still looks a *lot* like Cadaver. Look-and-feel, that is. Just an emotional thing anyhow, perhaps.
