guide that comes with miniarcanoid mentions secret password for unlocking some kind of cheats.
does anyone know this password? or do i have to reverse engineer and search source code for?
and then there is something supposed to be a level editor. runs after installing its library and fonts.
even if located in same folder as miniarcanoid, doesn't patch anything. an error says "not patched".
if i try the game afterwards, it starts as normal with same levels as always. so really not patched.
how do i use editor? why does it need extra screen? i want it windowed like the actual game itself.

same here. but the editor wants to pick 2.9 executable, while the version ony aminet is 2.9a.
maybe the reason it does not patch.
the editor allows to load and save sets, but within the game i cannot find an option to load one set.
but the game itself is well done, cool workbench game.
no idea about the password.

You may try on ppa.pl forum as developer is from Poland as you may read inside executable file.

i don't think developer is still active. last update of this game was in 1998.

The Password is "I'm your Master." However I couldn't find where to enter it, I tried the hiscore table and couldn't get it to work.

However, its easy enough to bypass the protection and have the cheat stuff activated.

1). Load up the "MiniArcanoid" file into a hex editor that can edit files, I use Filemaster2.2
2). Do a search for "I'm your Master"
3). Select the ' in between the letters "I" and "m", and hex edit it to be $00
4). Save the hex edit.

Load up the game as normal, start a game, then immediately exit, put on CAPS LOCK and then press the "I" key and you should then get a new scrolling message at the bottom of the screen.

If you then select options and scroll to the bottom, you will find a load of new options so you can select lives, stage, level etc.

edited it but afterwards game refuses to start with error "not enough memory".
can u please upload the edited executable which works for you? thanks a lot!

thank you for help. but i'm doing anything not right, i guess. how does immedetely exit work exactly?
have to press escape to release mouse, click close gadget and then confirm requester if i want to quit.
and what exactly is meant with start a game? is just the playboard visible or is the ball moving already?

No. Start a game, then press ESC to exit game, caps lock on and then press "I"

thx, now it works. at least cheat modes in options are displayed.
but if i alter anything, for example lives, in game nothing changes.
btw. what's the difference between level and stage?

i wish, someone would dare updating and improving this game.
sources of both miniarcanoid and leveleditor available on aminet.
i have so many ideas but unfortunately no programming skills.

both game and editor: utilizing more colors like 8 colors (magicwb) up to 256 cols.
an easy way of loading different level sets without needing to patch executable.
more powerups and also some powerdowns (bigger or smaller bat, shooting, etc.).
making level editor latest version compatible or even integrate it into game itself.
adding more patterns for bricks or possibility for creating and save own patterns.
an easier way entering cheat mode without hacking game executable.

and so much more...
