20000 lieues sous les mers
I am looking for 20000 lieues sous les mers, a French game by Coktel Vision. I already have a German version and an unofficial English one by Ackerlight, however, I'd like the original French one. Besides, does anyone know if an official English version was ever released?

Thanks for the link, but the file on the PE2000 site is a version of "20000 lieues sous les mers" which has been translated into English by Ackerlight (hint: that's why it has a [tr] in the filename ).

TOSEC naming convention
According to the TOSEC naming convention [t] is to be used for trained versions and [tr] for translated ones. Since this is obviously a little bit confusing we decided to add the number of training options & the group that did the trainer (e.g. [t +4 Anthrox]); furthermore, when we use the [tr] flag we now always add the language into which the game has been translated (e.g. [tr It] for a game translated into Italian). That way it's gonna be less confusing, I hope.

LOL
Thanks a million Twistin' Ghost for your upload of 20000 lieues sous les mers to the ADF Zone! This must be about the 100th time I thought I had finally found the original French version of that game, only to discover that it's actually the Ackerlight version, i.e. the one that's (partially) translated into English.
P.S.: No offense, I DO appreciate the fact that you tried to help out. |

Official English version
By the way, in reply to my own question from my first post above, an official English version WAS released, and I finally got hold of a copy of it (THANKS Andy!). Since I believe that it's not very widespread (most sites that claim to have "20000 miles under the sea" actually have the Ackerlight translation of the French version of the game), I'll post it to the ADF Zone.

The correct title is "20000 Leagues Under the Sea". Got mixed up with the German title I guess.
The official English version of the game doesn't seem to be cracked - I can't get past the manual protection. Does anyone have the colour chart for this game? Last edited by Fred the Fop; 12 October 2001 at 23:03. |

Lets get back to the subject. This game i have played on the PC...I must tell you..I have never...EVER...seen such a horrible looking game in my life. The Amiga version is bad, graphically...but of course, the PC version was far worse. It looked like some poor dog vomited his lunch on a comuter screen and the graphic artists used it like finger paint to produce this....wretched trash.....

Nice screenshot. It surely matches the vomit analogy.
