locked out on bootup

hi people

i have just done a fresh install OS3.5 + bb 1 & 2

the mixer has failed to initalise and now system cant / wont bootup?

tried boot with no startup sequence amigados screen
to delete the mixer sequence

>edit s:startup-sequence
>ed s:startup-sequence

invalid w command ??

i cant remember how i got into it the last time.

short of doing a re-install and leaving out the sound / mixer install

can anyone point me in the right direction.

Twizzle,

Have you created and tried the Emergency Startup CD ?

Or like the rest of us - didn't you bother?

the OS3.5 emergency disc on the cd, that you are supposed to create does not work.
documented years ago, when it was 1st released.
unless you can create your own custom 1.

if only.
i cant get into to ed or edit from amiga dos the early boot screen? ie boot with no startup-sequence.
to be able to edit the s:startup-sequence, to delete the mixer setup,
whch is stopping my sys from booting up.

You're not putting the / at the end of those, are you? If you are I'd imagine that's why it's not working - try removing it.

hi,
no, will remove the slash is case it confuses people.

going to make a copy of install3.1, leave unprotected and see if i can get in that way?


update IM IN:-)
got into prefs, envarchive, deleted everything to do with mixer.
swithed off 30secs, rebooted, AND UP SHE COMES:-)
