IDE cd-burner for A4000
I have a ide cd burner that I want to hook up as slave on an A4000.
Can anyone tell me how to do this? What software required, how to install/ setup the drive, ect. Thanks. |

I have used all 3, masteriso is crap, very limited on what drives it supports and you have to use their cd filesystem as well,
another big problem I found was you couldn't import a directory tree, you had to build in manually BurnIt is the prettiest but again fails on drive support and there is no demo version. I reccommend MakeCD, It supports most CDRW's through a generic atapi driver, there is a demo version with the only limit being a max of 10 tracks and TOA mode only, good enough for backing up data. If you don't have scsi on your amiga don't bother trying to burn any faster than 4x with scsi 8x works fine, 12x is theoretically possible but depends on your controller / harddrives... |

I picked up a cheap Yamaha CRW4416E CD-RW drive, and could not get it to burn a danged thing with MasterISO, BurnIT or MakeCD. Yet, I can read CD's fine. I picked up a YamahaCRW8824... same thing. Now, I managed to get a cheap Ricoh MP6200S and hooked it up to my DKB4091, with NOTHING burning. I am not sure what else to do, and all the other suggestions people have sent me have not worked either. I am now installing the Ricoh in an external p/s in the hope that may be a configuration something recognizes. This is rather frustrating...

hmmm, strange, I've been using a Ricoh drive with MakeCD for a couple of years... The only thing I had to do was manually tell it to use the CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI driver...

Many others have told me the same thing. Obviously I am overlooking something obvious here.
