Run WHDload as if I clicked on the icon

This has ALWAYS since 1990's bothered me with the amiga:
Is it possible to run an .info from the commandline, simulating a double click on the icon, e.g. tooltypes should be acknowledged etc.?

I am trying to test some stuff with WHDload and am tired of clicking but I want the tooltypes and executable info from the icon to be honored when I launch it.

Basically a start command like in Windows but for Amiga. I think WBRun should have worked but it doesn't run .info files.

EDIT: Nevermind it is called kgiconload I just found it here: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=584390&postcount=72 . Great tool, works perfect.

Yeah, that's the way to do it. The problem is that you can't actually run a .info file - double-clicking it actually runs a different file as specified in the icon's Default Tool field, and it's *that* program that reads the tooltypes etc. This is why running it from the shell with WBRun doesn't work. Good to know there's a tool out there that simulates that mechanism!

Just for the record. With WBRun it works. You need to leave out the suffix (".info", ".slave", ...). E.g. if you have:

Code:

DeluxeGalaga.info
DeluxeGalaga.Slave
ReadMe.info
ReadMe

Then you type in a shell:

Code:

WBRun DeluxeGalaga

or

Code:

WBRun ReadMe
