A new epsisode of "10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast" is up - This week I swap out my beloved Warp Engine for a 68060 modified A3640 card so I can send out the Warp Engine for an upgrade of its own, and I swap over to IDE drives and we run the AmigaOS 3.9 > 3.14 Upgrade scripts! Check it out!

This week I provided commentary (possibly a small rant) on the current legal struggles of the copyright owners of Amiga software. Sigh... almost 30 years later and still bickering... I didn’t understand the mod though. Did some Amiga 500s only have 256kb chip?

Amiga 500's traditionally had 512K on board, and if you added 512k to trapdoor memory the Agnus chip would give you 512K of CHIP RAM and 512K of Pseudo-FAST RAM. By adding a newer Fatter Agnus 8372A and cutting a trace or two, the Amiga 500 can use all of it as CHIP RAM. Huge help when it comes to the newer operating systems. Later A500+ machines had that AGNUS chip onboard already.
