Yes it is. The changes were made directly with a hex editor. When I corrected the file, the trainer options did not work.

Thanks, so both seems really corrupted.
E450D05D has on same disk position some conspicuous Data, within you can read such words like "startup-sequence" and "DEVS".
I wonder if exists good version, could not find until now.

Is it needful to add unmodified/unaltered images to ADF/Games, especially if we have already same image in IPF/Games?

For me question is, if this version is the original HD-version or if they modified it to HDonly?
I have installed to HD and i wonder, how do i get access to other two tables?
Ok, you have to press "Help" key to get access to other two tables!!!

Any idea about this game:

Your proggy shows some DOS errors in some files, which are probably really corrupted, right?

Do you agree to remove this disk completely, disk is 99,9% empty?

Ok, did some playtesting:
At least
D24E2F08 (Disk2) is corrupt.
Files on disk are well named:
File F1 in DIR 03 is reported as corrupt, so i can guess, that corruption must be in first stage of Level 2 and indeed game asks for disk 2 again and again, when i have corrupted image inserted, if i change disk with the good one it works.
Again even Gamebase Amiga has this corrupted image in their collection.

I have not done a comparison with IPF release. If the ADF image is the same, it does not actually has interest but maybe I should be adding a database SPS>ADF at DMS-Workshop, where possible...

The files are considered deleted because there is no rootblock ...
However, the files have a DOS structure but like the game Hugo, you must be cautious with the damage report. But:

Probably a bamcopy problem ... remove yes, but I collect the waste to avoid analyzing all the time the same crappy discs.

I have fixed for the time being, more than likely its correct, but there is no 100% proof, there are some other images, which have the same datestamp, for example [a3](E386ECA9), but track identification is different.

Indeed, we must remain cautious because there certainly are other unidentified releases (Mindscape, budget, ...) and certainly some hacks (optimizing disk). The three that I mentioned seem safe.

Defender of the Crown (1986)(Mirrorsoft)(Disk 1 of 2)[b checksum error]

I can not be sure of myself but it seems that the corrupted file is linked with crack...
In any case, the damage was intentional!!

In 68000, this translates into NOP (No Operation)
This instruction does nothing but it's often used to crack by replacing annoying instructions such as a branching to a protection routine, for example. In addition, the checksum of the sector does not correspond to the original data.
The probabilities for accident to make appear a instruction and change the checksum of a sector are very very thin.

I do not say that this hack is useful but it doesn't seem to be the result of "chance"

Uploaded for test a fixed "playerwin2.scene" file :
Defender of the Crown (1986)(Mirrorsoft)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr]

Maybe we should ask "Stingray" about this one!
Should be a few minutes job for him.
I have sent him a pm.

Good idea. In passing, I would point out that the "playerwin2.scene" file is a block of data ...

Both have corrupted files.
Can you please create "fix in place" version, using IPF.
It seems "QTX" released it with corrupt files.

It's done. "French" and "Italian" files restored using the original files but recracked. I compared with other language, it should be good.

Edit : Uploaded!
But beware, I have not tested!
